Ingredients

  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 1 jar pasta sauce (650 ml or 20 ounces)
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp italien seasoning
  • 2 lbs fresh cheese ravioli I used ricotta and spinach fresh ravioli
  • 2 cups shredded mozarella
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large heated skillet, cook the ground beef and the chopped onion over medium heat.
  • Once the ground beef is cooked, add 2 teaspoon of minced garlic. Cook for another 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  • Set 1 cup of your pasta sauce aside for later and add the rest to your pan as well as the Italian seasoning.
  • Mix well and let simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
  • While your sauce is simmering, spread a little bit of the pasta sauce, that you had set aside, into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
  • Add your first layer of ravioli. (Note: You may have to cut some in half to make them fit properly)
  • Add half of your ground beef mixture on top of the ravioli followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Add a second layer of ravioli, the other half of the ground beef, another layer of mozzarella cheese, and the parmesan cheese.
  • Add a third layer of ravioli and layer the rest of the pasta sauce on top followed by more cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes. (It could take less time depending on your oven so make sure you check on it).
Lasagna is done when it's heated all the way through and the cheese is nicely golden.
    Enjoy!

Notes

Notes & Tips:
  1. You can use frozen ravioli instead of fresh but keep in mind that when cooking with frozen it will create its own liquid and your sauce might end up thinner and less flavorful.
  2. This casserole can be made ahead of time and can be easily frozen baked or unbaked.  If sealed properly, this lasagna can last in the freezer for up to 6 months.
